The University of Tokyo (UTokyo) is Japan’s leading university and a global leader in higher education and research. Founded in 1877, UTokyo is the oldest national university in Japan, offering a wide range of programs across the sciences, humanities, and social sciences, attracting top students from around the world. In 2027, we will be celebrating our 150th anniversary. UTokyo is now pleased to announce the launch of UTokyo College of Design (UTokyo Design). This college unites creative design approaches with the world-class education and academic resources of the university. It aims to nurture a new generation of leaders capable of transforming today’s complex social challenges into tangible, impactful solutions for the benefit of all. Through an interdisciplinary curriculum and a collaborative learning environment, UTokyo Design empowers students to connect ideas across fields and work together to drive meaningful change in society.
