In 2026, Kansai University will celebrate its 140th anniversary as one of Japan’s leading comprehensive universities. Kansai University is a prestigious private institution offering 14 undergraduate and 13 graduate programs, including 2 professional graduate schools. With approximately 30,000 enrolled students, the university boasts campuses exclusively located in Osaka. As the largest city in western Japan, Osaka has long been renowned as a cultural hub. Kansai University also provides different kinds of scholarship to international students. These scholarships are awarded for a period of one year and is contingent upon obtaining the status of residence "College Student". The amount of the scholarship and the selection conditions vary depending on the faculty/graduate school. Students will be notified prior to enrollment based on their scores in the entrance examination and other tests.
Kansai University also provides support for international students seeking employment in Japan. Students receive guidance along with a job hunting preparatory course. Additionally, the university hosts joint corporate seminars to assist students in finding internships and job opportunities.

1. Internal scholarships:Scholarships offered by Kansai University
There are following 2 types of scholarships for privately-funded international students. Each scholarship is granted for a year, and is required to obtain the resident status of "Student".
For students who are in the Doctral Program, the scholarship is granted to all students during the time of standard term of study.
Granted amount and criteria for selection depend on faculty and graduate school.
-Scholarship for international students (For freshman)
We will select granted students based on their entrance examinations and notify
them before entering the university.
-Scholarship for international students (2nd year students or above)
Granted students are decided based on students' academic performance after
enrolling in the university.
2. External scholarships (university recommendations):scholarships granted by organizations external to Kansai University, requires university recommendations
3. External scholarships(open recruitment):scholarships granted by organizations external to Kansai University, students apply directly to the scholarship fundation
